Dear Miss Stuart I am writing to say how extraordinary sorry I am to hear your sad loss. It certainly seems true of this war about those the Gods love, e. All the very best fellows seem to have gone. – but I expect they deserve it & - -others lik it yet. Still that’s poor consolation to their friends & relations. I wish I could say something intelligent closing - but I’m not built that way. But I like you to know that I – how it hurts. Your sincerely ---
Some creasing, light scuffing.
